MMF’s Plans For 2024/25

28 March 2024

Following last month's approval by the Board of the 2024/25 MMF strategy, we are pleased to share with members more details of our forthcoming plans.

The three pillars of education, innovation and advocacy continue to underpin everything we do.

As a membership organisation, growing the MMF community will always be a key focus. We now have over 1,500 member managers and offer a range of events, networking, training and professional development to help you make connections and feel supported in your work. We will continue to host regional meet-ups and workshops and give you access to international contacts through our European sister organisation, EMMA, and it’s market spotlights and international genre networks.

We have recently introduced Direct Debit as a new way to pay for your membership and are offering a £20 discount to full members who make the switch before their next renewal. Please make the switch if you haven’t already.

Our education programme is still thriving. As an Arts Council England national portfolio organisation (NPO), we are recognised as a leading provider of training for music managers. Our Accelerator programme is now in its sixth year, generously supported by YouTube, ACE, PPL and SMIA, and we have delivered an extensive programme of professional development for music managers in Wales through a partnership with Creative Wales.

Our ever popular training courses will run throughout the year, so take a look at what we have coming up, whether you’re new to the industry or just need a refresher. We will continue to develop resources and research to ensure you have the most up to date information at your fingertips.

Our partnerships with the wider music industry through the Associate Programme connect you with key companies and suppliers that form part of the music industry ecosystem. We have plans connect with more lawyers, accountants, publishers and labels and grow this area of our work.

And finally with the general election coming up, it remains imperative that we continue to lobby hard to ensure the new government understands the issues facing music managers. We were encouraged by Labour’s recent announcement to end online ticket touting, an issue the FanFair Alliance has been campaigning on since being established by MMF in 2016.

This is a small taster of the work we have planned and hope you are as excited about the year ahead as we are. Full details can be found in the presentation below, and if you have any questions or suggestions about your membership, please get in touch.
