International Womens Day 2021: Manager Spotlight

08 March 2021

Copy of Add a heading (7)

For the 8th of March, we’re celebrating International Women’s Day with a very special ‘8 on the 8th’ Music Manager Spotlight Series.

We hear from 8 incredible female managers, sharing career highlights so far,  their take on what the industry needs to improve gender equity, as well as some very special Women’s Day Shoutouts to people and organisations that have offered support along the way.

Female membership at the MMF is at 34%, significantly higher than previous years, but still way off where it should be. We’re using IWD as an opportunity to highlight some of our female managers who are running successful management businesses, give them the recognition they deserve and hopefully inspire future managers!

We believe that visibility is extremely valuable to help encourage a more equal and diverse music industry, and while wider structural change are also necessary, such as tackling sexism and sexual harassment, reducing the gender and racial wage gap, targeted funding, mentorship etc. we do think celebrating our female members is important.

We encourage you to read all 8 and to share widely if you can! Thank you to our 8 amazing managers for generously sharing your stories.
