Brian Message Talks BitTorrent and ‘Moving Towards an Artist-Fan Relationship Based on Experience’

25 July 2012

In the lead article in the 20th July edition of Music Week, MMF Chairman Brian Message discussed befriending BitTorrent as part of an ongoing process of removing the barriers between artists and their fans.

He said: “Where technology allows something to happen and people want it, we don’t need laws that make it difficult to roll out… We need to grasp the fact that we have to move away from the copyright law trading model and more towards an artist-fan relationship based on experience.”

“BitTorrent has 160 million people every month that get involved with it. They are a channel to help us develop the artist-fan relationship.”
