PRS Tool for Calculating Overseas Performance Rights Fees

03 March 2017

Calculating overseas performance rights fees which are usually expressed as a promoter cost on a gig settlement has always been difficult and can lead to disputes with promoters. PRS have developed a tool to help calculate the correct amount which is a great step forward. This is available to PRS members and managers who have access to their clients account.

PRS for Music have newly developed an innovative web based application, which provides their members with a guide to international royalty rates. This unique tool calculates the amounts that foreign promoters will pay to local performing rights societies, while also displaying how the societies will allocate these royalties to the appropriate rights holders. This service ensures that PRS for Music members are equipped with the neccesary tools to negotiate full and fair royalty settlements with promoters. To gain access please email your request to LiveConcertService@prsformusic.com
MMF members are invited to an event demonstrating how this tool works- all the details are in your latest newsletter and in the members area.
