Tell us about your experiences with Form 696

23 May 2012

A few years ago the Metropolitan police introduced a form that promoters and venue owners were meant to fill in before a gig happened regarding who would be performing at each show. It was withdrawn because it was considered racist but amended and is still in operation in London.

Now it appears that the original form is being used in other areas such as Bedfordshire and Essex.

In the internet age, we are concerned about the operation of this form and what it might lead to i.e a refusal by the police to sanction a gig might result in an online record of a gig being cancelled and then a visa refusal from the USA. A long shot possibly, but it could happen

If anyone wants to share experiences either positive or negative about the implementation of Form 696 please e-mail webbo@themmf.net with FORM 696 in the subject line. Responses will be considered if you don’t want your name to be identified.
